Preservation and enhancement of folk cultural heritage in Central EuropeWelcome to the Website of the project ETNOFOLK, funded by the EU Structural Funds through the Central Europe Programme, which integrates the central Europe countries (Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Austria and Hungary) and aims to present Central European folk culture heritage and possibilities of its actual and future preservation and presentation. The project planned outcome will be an extensive web portal through which samples of folk architecture, costumes, music, songs, customs, devotion, etc. in visual, audio as well as video form will be presented. As another important aspect, the Portal will offer numerous outcomes of ethnographic nature, where the essential scientific background is the cultural and visual anthropology theory. The Project is running from 1.5.2011 until 30. 4. 2014 when the Portal is to be launched at a multilingual level. |
WHAT WE DOThe folk culture with its centuries old tradition in the regions of Central Europe, extremely rich in forms and genres, not only represents one of the keystones of our cultural identity but also offers substantial potential for sustainable socio-economic development of the regions. The project aims at utilization of the most up-to-date web based technologies for exploitation of these existing but so far weakly used resources. There is a constant interest of experts and broad public in the folk culture and its recent transformations in the Central European area.
NEWSNext projec meeting will be held in Bratislava (April 2012). |
WHAT WE AREETNOFOLK project consortium is composed of the following partners: Institute of Etnology of Academy of Sciences of Czech Republic (IEASCR); AiP Beroun s.r.o.; Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica (MBU); Institute of Ethnology of Slovak Academy of Sciences (IESAS); Institute of Ethnology of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (IEHAS); Scientific Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SRCSAS). The partnership has been built upon the existing relations between the research institutes and cultural heritage preservation organizations active in the field of Central European folk culture.
